Norfolk State University is proud to announce that guard Joe Bryant Jr. has been named the 2022-23 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Bryant Jr. has had an exceptional season, leading the Spartans to their first MEAC regular season title since 2012 and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Bryant Jr. has been a key player for Norfolk State throughout the season. The senior guard led the MEAC in scoring, averaging 19.4 points per game. He also led the conference in assists, with 4.9 per game. Bryant Jr.'s impressive season culminated with a game-high 23 points to lead Norfolk State to a victory in the MEAC Tournament championship game.
